About Dr. Alec J. Chaleff MD

Dr Alec J Chaleff

Dr. Chaleff proudly completed his ophthalmology residency at the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook in Long Island New York. After his ophthalmology residency, Dr. Chaleff completed additional fellowship training in corneal, refractive, and advanced anterior segment surgery at the renowned Price Vision Group in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Alec J. Chaleff MD is a premium cataract and refractive surgery specialist with advanced training in corneal transplantation and advanced anterior segment surgery.

Dr. Chaleff graduated summa cum laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Microbiology & Immuniology. He earned his MD degree from the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine and was recognized at MD graduation for exceptional academic achievement and was the John and Elizabeth Ackermann Endowed Scholarship Award recipient as a USF medical student. He also earned an MBA degree from the USF Muma College of Business and graduated with beta gamma sigma distinction while concurrently completing medical school.

Dr. Chaleff has published on the subject of fungal keratitis, orbital fractures and ocular trauma, ocular chemical injuries, snowflake degeneration of PMMA intraocular lenses, Acute Posterior Multifocal Placoid Pigment Epitheliopathy (APMPEE), and previously worked in a research lab investigating drug therapies for the parasitic disease leishmaniasis.
